Joan Miró. Women, Birds, Stars

Due to popular demand, the comprehensive exhibition of the works of Barcelona-born Catalan painter and sculptor Joan Miró is now extended until March 8, 2015! The exhibition titled Joan Miró. Women, Birds, Stars focuses on woman, bird and star themes of Miró, who was heavily inspired by his observations on the Mediterranean geography and people throughout his career.

Joan Miró: The Ladder of Escape

The documentary titled Joan Miró: The Ladder of Escape, which is currently being shown in the SSM galleries as part of the Joan Miró. Women, Birds, Stars exhibition with the permission of Washington National Gallery of Art, is now online with Turkish subtitles on our website. The Ladder of Escape follows some of the most tempestuous periods of the 20th century and world art through the lens of Joan Miró's life, narrated by noted actor Ed Harris.

Children Workshops

SSM is offering children unique learning possibilities this February!

Workshops in conjunction with Joan Miró. Women, Birds, Stars are extended until March 8, 2015 along with the exhibition, while Turkcell Platinum Mothers with Prams Day is continuing to offer mothers and babies their first museum experience together.

Lastly, this winter children are enjoying a fun time out during the semester break, with such chilly weather-friendly educational workshops as The Secret Notebook of a Designer, Painting and Winter workshops, broadening their horizons even when the school is out.

The workshops are held in Turkish.
 
  
Xuafei Yang

Xuafei Yang, the noted Chinese classical guitarist, is meeting Istanbul’s music enthusiasts on February 14th at 20:00 at The Seed.

As always, ticketholders to the event will be able to visit the museum free of charge until 19:30.
